The Whippet is a medium sized dog with a lean and athletic build.  This breed love human companionship but are often better suited to being a ‘one-man dog.’  They are a gentle and affectionate breed who have very little breed-specific health problems, the main one being their skin which is prone to lacerations as it is thin with very little protection. 

They require very little grooming, a simple rub-down after a walk will suffice.  The Whippet loves exercise and a good run, but can also be just as suited to curling up in front of the fire.  They get along with other animals but be careful of their natural hunting instinct when off the lead, make sure they will come back on recall.
