The Miniature Schnauzer is a small, alert and intelligent dog and without the correct training will try to rule the roost! They are generally fearless, eager and full of beans and for this reason they make good guards.
The more exercise they get, the calmer they will be indoors! They love nothing more than being out and about, exploring their surroundings. They are generally a healthy breed due to their hardy nature and make perfect companions for all ages, although they are known for having an independant streak!
Their wiry coat is easily maintained and they moult very little. A professional clip once or twice a year will suffice and a good brush in between will keep them in good condition. A Miniature Schnauzers ideal height is between 33 and 36cm. Colours are usually black or salt and pepper.
